Date of visit: July 2009 (3 days).
Where we stayed : Hotel Galileo, Vinohrady district. Our Rating (1-5): 4. A clean, comfortable property in an easily accessible area just outside the major tourist district with many reasonably priced restaurants nearby. See Prague for: Architecture, culture, history, ambience of the Vlatava River through the city with the spectacular Castle above. Our favorite sites and activities: Wandering through Old Town, Mala Strana, Prague Castle, Petrin Hill Funicular and Rose Gardens, Lunch cruise on the Vltava River, walking the Charles Bridge, strolling along the river. Best Free Fun: The Astronomical Clock. Our Favorite Meal: U Webru - a lively bistro just across the street from our hotel. Getting around: Easy! Excellent public transportation system. All major tourist attractions are accessible by Metro or trams. Most are walkable in good weather. Tips: Buy a three or five-day transit pass at the airport that is good for travel from the airport to the Central district plus allows unlimited use of the Metro, trams and buses in town. Take the scenic tram route #22 ride from Old Town to Prague Castle and ride the Petrin Hill Funicular at no additional charge. Click here for more information. Summarize Prague in one sentence or less: An exquisitely beautiful place. Would I return? Yes, and did return in 2010! |
